Following on my other post on the Tag Heuer Aquaracer Chronotimer
The line continues the distinctive styling and tradition of the long running classic 2000 line with its knobby bezel, stick hour markers and clean bracelet styling. The Aquaracer Chronograph continues this traditional Tag Heuer look.
- The watch dial is nicely trimmed with bright surrounds for the 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock sub-dials and applied indices.
- The watch features a unique 2-piece bezel. The inner bezel (same color as the dial) is stationary while the outer one can be rotated in the counter-clockwise direction.
- Stopwatch functions and feel are typical Valjoux requiring a hefty push to activate the chronograph buttons.
- This watch is on the thick side, measuring about 15mm. Its 41mm case diameter makes this watch quite hefty. Of course if you need more watch than the 41mm version, there is the newer and even bigger day-date version of this watch at 43mm diameter.
- The other thing I’d point out and comment on is the size of the crown Tag Heuer used on this watch. I found it a tad difficult to adjust the time or date or even the process to screw it back into its closed/sealed position. Because of the smallish crown, effort to screw back the crown is fairly high, particularly when the mainspring is tightly wound. I often wonder how a person with large fingers does this process.
